So maybe I DIDN’T go to Iceland for a day… but it sure did feel like it.
Today is a travel day!! I am flying to Boston, and then taking a bus to Portland, Maine. Since I will be traveling for most of the day, I thought I’d share something special with you.
A piece of the city I live in.
As I mentioned before, this past October I moved to Erie, PA from Florida and I have to admit: I am a wimp when it comes to the cold. Then again, I guess you can’t expect more from someone who spent that last 16 years of her life in Florida- where the only two seasons are summer and hurricane season.
Now, If you’re not familiar with Erie, it borders lake Erie which is one of the great lakes. (One of the greatest, if you ask me!!)
Along the lake, there is a peninsula park that is called Presque Isle and apparently, they have the best sunsets. (Doesn’t everybody say that about the place they live in?)
So this Saturday, I joined my friends Alexey and Russ on a drive around the peninsula where we stopped to see what affect the winter weather had on the lake.
It was nothing like I’d ever seen before.
Instead of sitting here describing all the details to you, I thought I’d bring my camera along and give you a tour.
NOTE: For best viewing, use something larger than your phone. The details in the ice, sand and snow are pretty fascinating. Enjoy! All photos taken by me unless otherwise noted.
After being out in the cold, we made our way to (of course) my favorite coffee shop in all of Erie: Ember + Forge. If you live in Erie and have not been there yet- let this serve as a reminder for you to stop in soon.
So… what’d you think?!
If your jaw dropped (like mine did) at any point as you scrolled, LET ME KNOW! One of my favorite parts about creating these posts is reading and replying to all of your comments!!
To all my Floridian friends- I’d love to hear what you think about the North Pole… err… I mean… my new home!
